  6. Give us a general overview of your adventure:
I went to Paoyhan, which is a village in the region of Ucayali. I was flying by plane from Lima to Pucallpa and then I went by boat from Pucallpa to Paoyhan. It takes about 10 hours to get there in a boat. You have to go to the port where the boats are lying, ready to leave, and ask when they are leaving. I was living in a house of the natives which are called shipibos. A year ago, I was staying there too for about two months. This year I only stayed for a month. This time I went there to visit and to find out about some projects I and the shipibos would like to do together. They have a lots of ideas, and I was talking with a lot of people about what to do. It is a very nice place with fantastic nature and the people are very kind. They always welcomes you with open arms and they like to hear about other countries and how we are doing things. The women makes a lot of art which mostly is painting on clothes and this is also painted with colors from the nature. They mostly paint the imagines of the anaconda. It is very beautiful. They also have shamans in the village, so if you search for spirituality, you can find it there too. You only have to ask. The form of shamanism is to drink hayavasca to see visions.
  7. Was it difficult?: no
    Why or why not?
It is very easy to travel especially if you speak a little spanish. The shipibos have their own language, but they also speak spanish.
  8. Would you recommend this adventure trip to someone else? Why or Why Not?
Yes, I will recommend it especially to people who do not need comfort. It is for people who want to see the real life in the jungle of Peru. You need a mosquito net.
  9. What do you wish you would have done differently?
    nothing
  10. What kind of advice can you give to other travellers going on this adventure?
You need mosquito net and something to lie on and to cover. In the nights, it can be very cold. The best time of year to travel to the jungle is June, July and August. You also need some sort of repelent and clothes to cover you.
  11. What type of gear did you bring?
  12. Where is your next big adventure? Why?
My next adventure is to go to Paoyhan one more time to see more.
