Give us a general overview of your adventure: I did a relatively easy trek to, over, and down a mountain pass in the Indian Himalayas
Was it difficult?: yes Why or why not? I wasn’t in shape! I did it after 5 months of touring Southeast asia, hotels and buses!
Would you recommend this adventure trip to someone else? Why or Why Not? It was done at the “start of the start” of the monsoon season. We were fogged in and only has bare glimpses of mountains. Crossing the pass we were totally fogged in. I saw more mountains from my hotel room!
What do you wish you would have done differently? I wish I had considered the possibility of bad weather, considered the calender dates against the monsoon season predicted dates, and just day tripped around.
What kind of advice can you give to other travellers going on this adventure? If you are thinking of mountain trekking near the time of the monsoon season, or worse, in it; please RECONSIDER! You could be fogged or clouded out and experience the mountains as though you were hiking a fog bound coastline! Really! No matter how you think before hand, not seeing mountains, seeing only clouds, and still having to grind out the days trek, sucks!
What type of gear did you bring? All brought by trekking company. Brought a day pack, water bottle, pile jacket.
Where is your next big adventure? Why? I am canyoneerin in Arizona. It is surreal and beautiful there.
Did you travel before or after your adventure? If so, where? Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Philippines.
On your adventure, what person did you most identify with? Homer Simpson
