High end tour, mid-range, or budget? Budget
Where did you go? How many days? What was the number of people?
The trek was to K-2 base camp and across the Godogoro La pass. It lasted 15 days and there were only two other people in the group besides myself, but there were six porters, a cook and a guide.
Recommend this company?
Why or why not?
It is a very small company, but very experienced. They’ve not only met most of the best climbers in the world, but have personally taken them up K-2 and other Pakistani mountains. I’ve seen pictures. They were willing to negotiate as well and to me that was one of the most important things, since I was on a tight budget and didn’t think I could afford that trek. They spoke English well, and had friends everywhere, so we were always a step ahead of the other, much more expensive groups. Of all the tour groups that we had seen and met on that trek, only two others – besides us – ended up crossing Gondogoro la – a big reason everyone goes in the first place – for some bad excuse or another.
What’s one piece of advice for going on an adventure?
Pakistan is an amazing country and safe, don’t be afraid to go. Try to see and do more than just a trek. The people may be the friendliest I’ve met anywhere in the world!
What was your guide like? What was his name?
Our guide was great! On our second or thrid night all the porters (from all the groups) were playing music, singing and dancing, but none of the guides were, except for ours. His name was Zahid Hussain and he was knowledgable, funny and friendly.
What was your opinion of the tour company?
A good quality company
