George Kalli has his share – and more! – of wet weather hiking in Patagonia, and still manages to have a grand time.
George Kalli and his girlfriend traveled a majority of the Carretera Austral from north to south, involving a total of 8 minibus rides, 3 ferry rides, 1 boat ride, 1 hired car, 9 hitched rides, and an approximately 21 kilometer hike.
George Kalli’s girlfriend had seen Hidro Speed in a film before – ending with shots of bloody and broken Norwegians clutching pieces of Styrofoam as they dragged themselves out of the water. She had wanted to try this sport ever since.
While traveling south through Chilean Patagonia, George Kalli decided to hop over the border to check out Argentina.
