This itinerary effectively condenses the best of Tanzania into a 6 day itinerary for a trip you'll never forget!




Detailed Itinerary



Day 1 - Arusha

Meet at the airport and transfer to your lodge for
pre-safari briefing.


Overnight: Karama Lodge (Dinner included)



Day 2 - Arusha - Esilalei - Crater Highlands

After breakfast, we transfer into the Maasai
Heartlands to a village called Esilalei (Toothbrush
Tree) located in the wildlife corridor in between
Tarangire and Lake Manyara. We enjoy a packed
lunch just as we enter the village and are met by
the village elders and morani (warriors) singing
and dancing to welcome us. Your visit supports
the building of their school here. Climb into the
Crater Highlands for overnight in an old coffee
plantation.


Overnight: Ngorongoro Farmhouse (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner included)



Day 3 - Crater Highlands - Ngorongoro

Ngorongoro is a collapsed volcano - an incredible
natural amphitheatre, 25 km across and teeming
with all of the African big game.
Take an early morning descent into the crater for
spectacular scenery and game viewing in what has
been described as the eighth wonder of the world.
In late afternoon, we return to the rim for a
wilderness walk that showcases incredible views of
the caldera. Return to crater rim for overnight.


Overnight: Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner included)



Day 4 - Ngorongoro - Serengeti

Serengeti is calling today – option pass through
Olduvai Gorge and a view of the archaeological
sites (and visit the museum) where early human
tools and fossils have been found. Otherwise, we
drive directly to the Serengeti! Game drive in the
rolling grasslands. Criss-crossed with forested
riverine valleys, the Serengeti plays home to
millions of Africa’s large mammals, making this one
of the world’s most famous wildlife destinations.

Day 5 - Serengeti

All day game drive in Serengeti. Best time for the
wildebeest migration is Dec to June but there are
spectacular wildlife sights at anytime of year

Day 6 - Serengeti - Arusha

We enjoy an early morning game drive before
transferring to the airstrip for our flight back to
Arusha.


Overnight: Onward travel to Zanzibar or Dar es Salaam is possible. (Breakfast and Lunch included)


Accommodation Information


Karama Lodge

Karama Lodge in Arusha is set on the side of a hill just on the outskirts of Arusha with
individual thatched cabins and spectacular views across to Kilimanjaro. Karama is also known
for its superb cuisine.

Ngorongoro Farmhouse

Ngorongoro Farmhouse is located in Crater Highlands about a five minutes drive from the Ngorongoro Conservation Area's Lodoare Gate. It is built on a 500 acre coffee estate and part of a still functioning farm. The Farmhouse is surrounded by large open space and is built from traditional clay brick and plastered.


Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge

Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge is located on the north-eastern side of the Ngorongoro Crater rim. It is literally perched right on the edge and the views into the caldera are magnificent. The lodge hs 78 rooms, spread over two floors that all hug the rim edge.


Nasikia Luxury Mobile Camp

Nasikia Luxury Mobile Camp consist of 6-10 tents that move 3-4 times per year to insure incredible viewing of the Great Wildebeest Migration. The tents are large and fitted out comfortably with flushing toilets, twilight showers, and solar lighting. The dinning tent has a lounge area and 'dining under the stars' is also an option.
