This route takes you from Marrakesh, over the High Atlas Mountains, through Ouarzazate, Ait Ben Haddou, and Skoura (Valley of Kasbahs), to the Sahara Desert for a camel ride and camp out. The latter part of the itinerary then takes you through Rissani and Erfoud before entering the Middle Atlas Mountains and going through Midelt, Ifrane, and finally to Fez.
Day 1 - Marrakesh - Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - Dades Valley
Today, you will depart from Marrakesh at 9 am. After passing over the Tizi n Tichka Pass of the High Atlas Mountains. Along the way you will stop for lunch and have the opportunity to visit the UNESCO world heritage site at Ait Ben Haddou. You might also enjoy exloring Ouarzazate. This relatively new city is home to the Kasbah once owned by the Glaouis family, who ruled Morocco. You will spend the night in the naturally beautiful Dades Valley. Total travel time today is 5 hours.

Day 2 - Dades Valley - Merzouga
Today, you will be taken to Merzouga. En route, you can stop at the Todra Gorge. Following, you'll choose your camel and head about one hour into the desert to our private tent area. The night is spent dining alfresco under the stars followed by a night in a Bedouin-style tent. If you prefer not to camp out, simply ride the camel for one hour to view the sunset and spend the night at the kasbah hotel. Travel time today is 5 hours.

Day 3 - Rissani - Ziz Valley - Erfoud
After rising early, you will be able to ride the camels back to the hotel where you can take a shower, have breakfast, and then venture into the lush Ziz Valley. There, you will meet your local guide who will take you on a light walk through the surrounding farms, explaining the areas produce and farming techniques. Following, a popular stop is lunch with the guide's family. The night will be spent in Erfoud. Total travel time today is 3 hours.

Day 4 - Midelt - Ifrane - Fez
Today, you'll head north through the Middle Atlas Mountains through Midelt, Ifrane (the "Switzerland of Morocco"), and finally be dropped off at your hotel or guesthouse for the evening in Fez. Total travel time today is 7 hours.
