This fills the void of those looking to do both a cultural tour combined with some walking and/or trekking in the High Atlas Mountains. Following your arrival into Marrakech, you'll head into the mountains for a walk followed by a Sahara Desert Tour. The walking tour outlined in this particular route can be substituted for any other three night / three day route you find appealing on our website, including a summit of Mount Toubkal. Clients who wish to stay in higher-end accommodations will spend their nights in a luxury mountain lodge with walking tours each day (please see below for details). Then, enjoy Moroccos peaks, its Sahara Desert, and all its amazing nooks, crannies, valleys, and gorges.
Day 1 - Marrakech Arrival
Today, you'll arrive into Marrakech and be picked up at the airport. From there, you'll be taken to your riad for the night. Enjoy this evening of leisure to recover from your travels.

Day 2 - Marrakech
Today a private guide will meet you at your hotel to begin a full day tour of the Marrakech Medina and greater Marrakech. Explore the sights, souks and smells of this imperial city.

Day 3 - Marrakech - High Atlas
Today, you'll depart Marrakech at 9AM and drive to the starting point for this walk where you will meet your mountain guide. You'll then walk from Imi Ourlad Tizi Ntacht (2200m) to Imi Nifri. Then, you'll head to Tizian and settle in the guest house following lunch. Total trekking time today is four hours. Over the next two nights during your trek, you will be staying in lodges provided by our partners in the area.
Day 4 - High Atlas Trek
Today, you'll walk to Tizi Oussem. Once at the rural guesthouse, you can drop off your bags and head out to the waterfall where lunch will be served picnic style. Following, you can relax, take photos, and enjoy the scenery before heading back to Tizi Oussem. Total trekking time today is five hours.
Day 5 - High Atlas Trek
Today, you'll walk from Tizi Oussem to Tiz Mzik where you'll have lunch in Azib Berdoun (2000m). Following, it's a downhill walk to the Berber village of Imlil where you'll be spending the night. Total trekking time today is five hours.

Day 6 - Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - Skoura
Today is a long travel day. You will pass over the Tizi n Tichka Pass of the High Atlas Mountains. Along the way you will stop for lunch and have the opportunity to visit the UNESCO world heritage site at Ait Ben Haddou. You might also enjoy exloring Ouarzazate. This relatively new city is home to the Kasbah once owned by the Glaouis family, who ruled Morocco. After a six hour drive, you will spend the night in Skoura.

Day 7 - Erg Chebbi In Merzouga
Today, you will be taken to Merzouga. At the hotel, you can store any baggage and take an overnight bag with you. Following, prepare for a one hour jaunt on camel back into the desert. (Walking alongside the camels is also an option.) The night is spent dining alfresco under the stars followed by a night in a Bedouin-style tent. The tents are in our own private area without the hordes of people you might find in other camping locations. If you prefer not to camp out, simply ride the camel for one hour to view the sunset and spend the night at the kasbah hotel.

Day 8 - Tinjedad - Dades Valley
Today you'll head through Tinjedad and to Boulmane. Here, you can enjoy a drive up into the scenic Dades Valley to witness Morocco's most amazing natural rock formations. Travel time today is four hours.

Day 9 - Dades Valley - Marrakech
Today, you will head back over the Tizi N Tichka pass and the High Atlas Mountains to Marrakech.

Day 10 - Marrakech Departure
