Itinerary
Days 1-2 Cairo
The never-ending stream of life and noise makes Cairo fascinating to explore. From here, the Sphinx and Pyramids are within easy reach.
Days 3-4 Aswan
Gracing the banks of the Nile, Aswan is a great base. Consider visiting a nearby Nubian village for a dinner of traditional delicacies and to enjoy the local swimming holes. Otherwise, a day trip to the fascinating temples of Abu Simbel is possible.
Day 5 Nile Felucca
A Nubian crew provides food and song on this traditional felucca journey down the Nile. Watch river life in action and fall asleep beneath the night sky.
Days 6-7 Luxor
Wander through the temple complex of Karnak or travel by donkey into the open-air museum that is the spectacular Valley of the Kings.
Day 8 Dakhla Oasis
Travel through the desert to an ancient oasis.
Day 9 White Desert Camp
Experience the nomadic life of Bedouins on the windswept dunes of the Western Desert. Spend the night among the strange moonscape of the White Desert.
Day 10 Bawiti
Uncover the legend of the Golden Mummies or take a soak in the mineral-rich springs.
Days 11-12 Siwa Oasis
This remote, exotic oasis is a lush paradise among the desert dunes. Explore the maze-like ruins of the mud brick fort or perhaps take a dip in Cleopatra's Bath.
Days 13-14 Alexandria
The Mediterranean city of Alexandria has played host to Cleopatra, Marc Antony and, of course, its namesake Alexander the Great. Enjoy an excellent seafood meal here overlooking the ebbing ocean.
Day 15 Cairo
Return to Cairo for some final sightseeing.
