Itinerary

Day 1 Kochi

Kerala's eclectic history is most evident in Kochi. Here, India's oldest European church sits alongside mosques and synagogues, Portuguese homes nestle against English manors, and Chinese fishing nets line the harbour shores.

Day 2 Munnar

Craggy mountain peaks, tropical forests and lush tea plantations surround the hill station of Munnar. Why not sip a local brew while admiring the view?

Days 3-4 Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary

Savour the heady aroma of spices at a local spice garden before venturing into the acclaimed Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. Wander amid colourful flowers and lush trees and keep an eye out for bison, elephants, deer and maybe tigers and leopards.

Days 5-6 Alleppey/Kerala Backwaters

Cruise through the backwaters of Kerala to Alleppey. This pleasant market town sits on the banks of palm-lined canals. Enjoy a leisurely cruise through the winding waters and meet locals on a walk through a village.

Days 7-8 Varkala

Visit the Mannarasala Nagaraja temple then, in Varkala, indulge in a traditional Ayurvedic massage followed by a refreshing coconut drink at one of the many cliff-top cafes.

Days 9-10 Trivandrum/Kovalam Beach

Sitting on the Arabian Sea, Kovalam Beach is the perfect spot to unwind. See Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple and use free time to relax on palm-fringed beaches, sample fresh seafood or shop for souvenirs before heading home.
