Itinerary

Days 12-13 Jaipur

Follow secret passageways in the Amber Fort and see the pink sandstone Hawa Mahal blush at dusk. Choose to shop for gems, pottery and textiles in the colourful bazaars or join the vocal audience at a Bollywood film.

Enjoy free time to see Delhi's sights. Humayun's Tomb boasts exquisite early Mughal architecture - and the surrounding garden is an oasis of calm amid the chaos of the city.

Days 1-2 Delhi

An assault of colours, smells and sounds, chaotic Delhi is a truly fascinating city. Find a quiet corner in India's largest mosque, visit the Sikh temple and meander through the spice bazaars of Old Delhi.

Venture deep into the wilderness. With luck, glimpse tigers, wild boar, jackals and porcupines.

Day 5 Khajuraho

See beautifully preserved ancient temples featuring erotic carvings of the Kama Sutra.

Days 6-7 Orchha

Stroll through rural areas largely untouched by modern life and explore the palaces and temples of Orchha. Visit a unique papermaking plant and in the evening perhaps take in the puja ceremony at Ram Raja Temple.

Day 9 Karauli - Rural Heritage Stay

Relax on an overnight stay in princely Karauli.
