Days 1-2 Rome

Walk beneath the Colosseum arches, marvel at the mighty Pantheon or simply stroll through the piazzas that dot this ancient city. Between sipping espresso with voguish locals, sharing ancient laneways with Vespas and being awestruck by the history around every corner, Rome is sure to charm and seduce, so throw a coin in the Trevi and make a wish to return.

Day 3 Naples

Full of raucous passion, Naples nestles invitingly into the bay that shares its name. Explore the Heritage-listed historical centre to uncover traces of Phoenician, Venetian, African and Roman history. Spend a free afternoon delving into the crumbling catacombs or discover original Pompeii artefacts in the Archaeological Museum. Succumb to the temptation of a slice of traditional Neapolitan pizza.

Days 4-5 Pompeii/Mt Vesuvius

Discover the eerie archaeological site of Pompeii where plaster casts of Vesuvius' victims express the horror of their final moments. Walk the well-paved streets and try to imagine the day when ash rained down on this once-prosperous town. See the mountain that caused this catastrophe up-close on a walk to the summit and look out over the deep blue Bay of Naples.

Days 6-9 Sorrento

Enjoy rocky coastlines, azure seas and clear blue skies from the picturesque seaside town of Sorrento. Walk the Footpath of the Gods for breathtaking views, and perhaps take a ferry to the Isle of Capri to listen out for the songs of the mythical Sirens. There is plenty of free time to relax in a sidewalk cafe and soak up the lazy atmosphere of the famed Amalfi Coast.
