Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive San José
Arrive in San José at any time.
Day 2-3 Tortuguero
Early pick-up from your hotel in San Jose for the drive out of the central highlands and down to the river port. Hop on board a comfortable lancha (boat) for your journey through the remarkable Tortuguero canals to the Pachira/Evergreen Lodge. After lunch visit the small village of Tortuguero. In the afternoon climb muddy Cerro Tortuguero (Tortuguero Hill) for a great view over the park. Chill out at the lodge before an optional night excursion to see the nesting of the giant turtles (seasonal March–September).
Day 4-5 La Fortuna
Hop on the Adventure Bus for the transfer to your hotel in the small village of La Fortuna, located at the foot of the active Arenal Volcano. Hot springs, hiking and rafting are some of the many options to enjoy here.
Day 6-7 Monteverde
Spend your days exploring the Cloud Forest or zip through the treetops on the SkyTrek, one of the world’s largest zip line systems.
Day 8-9 Rincon de la Vieja
Back on the Adventure Bus for your transfer to Rincon de la Vieja, a simple hotel on the slopes of the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano.
Day 10-13 Manuel Antonio / Quepos Area
Hop on the Adventure Bus and travel south to the beautiful beaches of the Pacific coast. Relax on the beach, learn to surf or go swimming and snorkelling in the warm waters.
Day 14 San José
Travel on the Adventure Bus back to the San José hotel. Enjoy one last night on the town.
