Itinerary

Day 1 Nairobi

Welcome to busy Nairobi, gateway to Kenya's delights.

Day 2 Lake Naivasha

There's plenty of time to take in the shimmering expanse of this freshwater lake. Admire the abundant birdlife and maybe even see some hippos or monkeys.

Day 3 Lake Nakuru

From the shores of Lake Nakuru, spy thousands of pink flamingos standing gracefully in the water. Sightings of rhinos, baboons and giraffes are also possible on game drives through the park.

Days 4-5 Lake Bogoria National Reserve/Kerio Valley National Reserve

Pass spouting geysers and bubbling geothermal pools travelling through this reserve. Listen out for the distinctive call of African fish-eagles before continuing on to the scenic farmlands of the Kerio Valley.

Days 6-7 Kakamega Forest Reserve

Once part of the rainforest belt spanning the girth of Africa, this relatively small patch is all that remains. Take a guided walk beneath the canopy of age-old trees and feast the senses on the exotic sights, sounds and smells of this incredible eco-system.

Days 8-9 Kendu Bay Village Homestay

Stay among the friendly Luo tribe on a local homestay. Learn their traditional ways of life: crafting huts, ploughing fields with oxen and grinding meal with stone.

Days 10-12 Masai Mara National Reserve

Venture into the swaying grasses of the famous Masai Mara at dawn and dusk to spy Africa's big cats. A walk with the crimson-clad Masai warriors gives wonderful insight into their cultural traditions.

Day 13 Nairobi

Savour breathtaking vistas over the Great Rift Valley en route to vibrant Nairobi.
