Day 1 Cairo/Alexandria
Transfer from Egypt's vibrant capital to the seaside city of Alexandria. Why not arrive early to explore some of the Cairo's many sights? Discover the old winding streets of the Coptic Christian sector, get swept up in the lively energy of the Khan al-Khalili bazaar, or take a lead from the locals and stroll along the Corniche at sunset.Day 2 Alexandria
Join a local guide to explore this majestic city, then enjoy plenty of free time to wander at a leisurely pace. Established in 331 BC by Alexander the Great, Alexandria quickly flourished into a prominent cultural, intellectual, political and economic metropolis. See where the immense Pharos, a lighthouse that was one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, once warned ships away from treacherous rocks. Explore the Roman catacombs of Kom Ash-Suqqafa and see the Pillar of Pompey, the only remains of the ancient Serapeum. Don't forget to soak up the atmosphere of ancient scholarship at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the modern library inspired by the famed ancient centre of learning that burnt down millennia ago.
