Day 1 Istanbul
Straddling Europe and Asia, embracing both West and East, Istanbul is a metropolis of contrasts and surprises. Kick-start this adventure with a walk through the bustling backstreets of the city. Sniff out the spice markets, visit the Rustem Pasha Mosque and begin to gain insights into daily Turkish life.Day 2 Pamukkale
Gleaming like ice in the sun, the white calcium travertines of Pamukkale are an astounding sight. There is time to explore the terraces and admire the pools which have long been reputed for their healing qualities. Perhaps take the option of a home-cooked meal with local friends.Day 3 Selcuk
Wake up early for the chance to discover the fascinating ruins of Ephesus. One of the best-preserved classical cities in the world, this crumbling town was once a great hub for trade and religion. Marvel at the Library of Celsus and stroll the Sacred Way. For those who work up a thirst, perhaps head to the nearby village of Sirince to taste traditional fruit wines.Days 4-5 Fethiye
Nestled into a fold in the hills and lapped by the Mediterranean, Fethiye offers a wealth of adventure options. Cruise to the islands in the bay, swim at the famed Oludeniz beach or step out to hike a section of the Lycian Way. Alternatively, head to Kayakoy to discover a Greek ghost town or just relax by the harbour and feast on fresh seafood.Day 6 Antalya
At the centre of bustling Antalya lies Kaleici, the historic quarter, where Ottoman houses lean over narrow streets and Roman ruins bristle from the earth. Visit the ancient harbour or browse the Antalya Museum for a glimpse into the past.Day 7 Konya
Isolated in the heart of the great Anatolian Steppe, Konya is nevertheless a flourishing city. This devoutly muslim region offers a different facet of life in modern Turkey. There may be time to visit the impressive Mevlana Museum, the former lodge of the Whirling Dervishes.Day 8 Istanbul
Back in the capital, take a ferry across the Bosphorus to the European shore to marvel at Istanbul's skyline, studded with domes and towering minarets.
