Day 1 Delhi
Home to millions of people and a million adventures, Delhi is a melange of colour and noise, chaos and beauty. Discover a little of its magic on a walking tour.Day 2 Agra
Travel to Agra, home of the Taj Mahal and the magnificent Red Fort. See these amazing structures and learn the stories behind their construction.Day 3 Heritage Stay
Walk the eerie streets of Fatehpur Sikri - a fortified city built and deserted within 50 years. Travel on to the Keoladeo Bird Sanctuary and take a quiet cycle rickshaw through the lush vegetation.Days 4-5 Jaipur
In the pink city of Jaipur, discover the Palace of the Winds and the Amber Palace. Catch a Bollywood film, hunt for curios in the local bazaars or grab a cup of sweet, milky chai and converse with the locals.Day 6 Delhi
After snapping up a final bargain or two in Jaipur, head back to Delhi for another taste of the chaotic capital. Indulge in traditional Indian sweets, explore the ruins of Qutb Minar or find a shady park to rest awhile.Day 7 Agra
Return once again to the Muslim city of Agra. Head back to the Taj to watch its colours change in the fading light or wander the local chowk to sample some food from the street stalls.Days 8-10 Orchha
Walk through the green landscape of Orchha to discover crumbling palaces and temples. Visit Taragram, a unique papermaking plant that offers employment to tribal women from the local area.Day 11 River Ganges Boat Trip
Float down the holy Ganges on a small riverboat - a great way to see Indian life gently roll by. Eat tasty meals cooked onboard and spend a night camping on the riverbank.Days 12-13 Varanasi
Characterised by its temples and ghats, Varanasi is India's holy heart. Discover the winding alleyways of the old city, which teems with pilgrims, pedestrians and the odd cow or two, and watch the sunset wash the river red.Day 14 Lumbini
Visit the Maya Devi Temple, the very site where Buddha is believed to have been born.Days 15-17 Chitwan National Park
With some of the best wildlife viewing in Asia - keep an eye out for 43 different mammalian species - Chitwan National Park is well worth a visit.Days 18-20 Kathmandu
With a Himalayan backdrop, travel past terraced fields, deep gorges and river cascades en route to Kathmandu. Explore the monkey temple, see the burning ghats at Pashupatinath and join the pilgrims at Bodhnath Stupa. Wander the lively streets of the capital to soak up the vibrant atmosphere of Nepal.
