Itinerary

Days 1-2 Kathmandu

Walking is a great way to experience this colourful capital. Head to Durbar Square to admire its delightful architecture and to observe city life. Tour Bhaktapur, a small feudal city where cobblestone streets wind between temples, courtyards, shrines and wells.

Day 3 Bandipur

With an eagle's-nest position, Bandipur boasts a remarkably well-preserved heritage. Admire traditional Newari houses with slate roofs and carved wooden windows and visit the five fig trees at the Tundikhel parade ground.

Day 4 Begnas

Serene and picturesque, the lakes of Begnas and Rupa are surrounded by thick forests echoing with birdcalls. Discover peaceful mountain trails, test those fishing skills, unwind with an Ayurvedic massage or perhaps sail on the lake.

Days 5-6 Pokhara

Situated on the shores of Nepal's second-largest lake, Pokhara has a lovely relaxed ambience. Take time to meet local carpet weavers and craftspeople, hike to the World Peace Pagoda or relax with a book in a cafe. Support the Tibetan cause by purchasing souvenirs or gifts at the Tibetan Refugee Camp

Days 7-8 Chitwan National Park

Safari on elephants and in canoes through the tangled jungle of Chitwan National Park. Glide down a river that is one of the last remaining habitats of gharials, fish-eating crocodiles that have been hunted close to extinction. Keep an eye out for the Bengal tiger, visit an elephant breeding centre and gain an insight into local life on a village tour.

Days 9-10 Kathmandu

Back in the capital, spend time relaxing with a chai or head out for some final shopping.
