Itinerary
Day 4 Kathmandu
After a final morning spent in the jungle or lazing at the lodge, head back to Kathmandu for sightseeing, shopping or further adventuring.
Days 1-3 Kathmandu/Chitwan National Park
Transfer from either colourful Kathmandu or lake-side Pokhara to a lodge on the edge of the vast Chitwan National Park. Discover a lost world of towering trees, marshes and twisting vines, of pre-historic rhinos and lumbering elephants, of crocodiles, pythons and deer, of brilliantly coloured birds and even rare dolphins. Perhaps watch sunrise through the mists as you boat down the slow moving Rapti River. Then, head deeper into the jungle by foot or elephant to search out the elusive Bengal tiger, shy sloths or magnificent rhinos. Bird lovers are well served with myriad colourful bird species making their home in the park. There's also time to visit the Elephant Breeding Centre or you can always get close to these beasts and help bathe them as they take a dip in the river at the end of the day's exploration. In the evening get a taste of local culture and experience a traditional dance performance by the Tharu tribe.
