Itinerary

Day 1 Quito

Resting beneath snow-capped Volcan Pichincha, with at an altitude of 2,850 m, Quito is one of South America's most scenic cities.

Days 2-3 San Cristobal

Take a bike ride on the island, stopping to visit the Interpretation Centre to learn the history of the Galapagos, then take a refreshing swim at Mann Beach.

Day 4 Floreana

Explore the island's walking trails, then admire the stunning views from the clifftop.

Days 5-6 Isabela

See the giant waves crash against Punta Suarez's jagged cliffs, home to many large bird colonies.

Day 7 Santa Cruz

Watch playful sea lions on Punta Cormorant's unique green beach.

Day 8 Santa Cruz/Santa Fe/San Cristobal

Spot red-footed and masked boobies, fur seals and marine iguanas.

Days 9 San Cristobal/Quito

Spot colourful crabs, pelicans and penguins on a hike to the island's summit.

Day 10 Lima

Get a feel for Peru's colonial past on a guided walk around its capital.

Day 11 Cuzco

One of the Andes' most charming cities, Cuzco overflows with Spanish-colonial buildings and the ruins of ancient temples.

Day 12 Ollantaytambo/Sacred Valley

Travel through the farming land and small villages of the Sacred Valley.

Days 13-17 Inca Trail/Machu Picchu/Cuzco

Follow the ancient paths of the Inca Empire on a trek that takes in ruins, mountain scenery, rich subtropical jungle and dreamy cloud forests. On the final day, climb the steps to Intipunku, the Sun Gate, and watch magnificent Machu Picchu rising from the mist.
