Days 1 Kathmandu
Conclude the adventure amid the bustle and colour of Nepal's scenic capital.Days 2-3 Khatauti Khola
Cross into Nepal, journey through the fertile lands of the Terai, drive up into the Mahabharat Range for glorious Himalayan views and overnight in an eco-camp where you can literally choose your own adventure.Days 4-5 Siliguri
Wind back down the switchback road to Siliguri.Days 6-8 Gangtok
A haven for Tibetan Buddhists, Gangtok sprawls down a mountain ridge. Visit the monastery at Rumtek and perhaps hike to the old gompa a little further down the road.Days 9-12 Darjeeling
With gorgeous views and a relaxed atmosphere, this capital of the tea lands is a wonderful place to explore on foot.Day 13 Siliguri
Travel up into the foothills of the Himalaya.Days 14-16 Kolkata
Known locally as the intellectual and cultural capital of India, Kolkata is a metropolis that constantly confounds expectations. Visit a local foundation that helps the disadvantaged and laugh with the lively children.Day 17 Bush Camp
Gaze out over the 'city of temples' and spend a night at a rustic bush camp.Days 18-20 Puri
One of the holiest cities in India, Puri is home to the white confection of the Jagannath Temple. Further up the coast, the magnificent Sun Temple of Konark is truly remarkable.Days 21-24 Orissa
Spend time in the remote tribal hinterlands of Orissa. Camp under the stars and visit tiny villages for a slice of rural life.Days 25-27 Tirupathi/Bush Camps
Join the throng at a temple where the staff alone number 18,000. Camp in the countryside and remember that often the best way to meet the locals is with a friendly game of cricket.Days 28-29 Chennai
Begin the adventure in the capital of the south. Perhaps arrive early to visit Fort St George and to see the many temples.
