Itinerary

Days 1-2 Marrakech

Full of colour and commotion, the mosaic of souqs in Marrakech's medina is a delight. Enjoy a Moroccan feast at Djemaa el-Fna and try a freshly squeezed juice or fragrant mint tea.

Day 3 Ait Benhaddou

Follow the footsteps of the gold, ivory and slave traders who once stopped in this magnificent clay kasbah on their journey across the Sahara. Marvel at Ait Benhaddou's ochre landscape then learn the secrets of Moroccan cuisine at a cooking class.

Day 4 Todra Gorge

Wake early and watch the sunrise over the desert before heading to the impressive Todra Gorge. An optional trek into Nomad country is sure to impress - the views and scenery are spectacular. Explore the surrounding palmeries or eat lunch with local ladies in a mud-brick kasbah.

Day 5 The Sahara desert camp

Journey through lush valleys dotted with date palms en route to the Sahara. Embark on a camel ride taking in a sunset over the cinnamon-red dunes and stay in a hotel made from the Saharan sands.

Days 6-7 Ouarzazate

Visit the Taourirt Kasbah - the largest Glaoui kasbah in the area - explore the narrow alleys of the old Jewish quarter to see how pottery, carpets and traditional handcrafts are made.

Day 8 Talioune

This saffron growing region is now a popular trekking destination. Explore the surrounding area with a local guide or simply kick back by the pool.

Days 9-11 Atlas Mountains

isit the Tin Mal Mosque en route to Ouiragane. Explore the fertile valleys and rugged terrain in the magnificent Atlas Mountains. Take a short trek up Mt Toubkal and enjoy the panoramic vistas and breathtaking scenery along the way.

Days 12-13 Atlantic Coast and Essaouira

With its Norfolk Island pines and colourful fishing boats, Essaouira is a scenic delight. Take a stroll along the ramparts of the Scala de la Ville, where carving workshops overflow with fragrant local thuya wood. Wander along the beach, visit art galleries or feast on freshly caught seafood.

Days 14-15 Marrakech

Return to Morocco's cosmopolitan capital. Mingle with tourists and locals in the city's main square - where music and mouth-watering aromas pervade the air. Reflect on this Moroccan adventure in the beautiful Majorelle Gardens and then enjoy a meal of the best couscous in the country.
