Active Canada

Get set for an action-packed Intrepid adventure in Canada's west coast. Trek the Rocky Mountain parks then float in a boat to Whistler, bike and hike through the Valley of Five Lakes then ride an ice-mobile in one of Canada's oldest parkland. Admire creaking glaciers and explore the world's only temperate inland rainforest, then sea kayak, hike and whale-watch on Vancouver Island. Get your skates on - this exhilarating journey through Canada's pristine, ever-changing landscape is ready to go!

Itinerary

Days 1-3 Vancouver/Wells Gray Provincial Park

Head to British Columbia's third-largest provincial park and watch the terrain become even wilder. Sleep under the stars at a cowboy ranch.

Days 4-6 Jasper National Park

Trek to one of Canada's largest Rocky Mountains parks. Experience a sense of sublime wonder while standing among ancient mountains, lofty pines and mesmerising blue lakes.

Days 7-9 Banff National Park

Venture into Canada's oldest national park to ride an ice-mobile in the Athabasca Glacier. A playground for outdoor enthusiasts, Banff features valleys and mountains formed millions of years ago. After a jam-packed day, take time out at the tranquil Lake Louise.

Days 10-11 Yoho National Park/Golden

Get pulses racing on an optional white-water rafting trip on Kicking Horse River. Visit the amazing Takakkaw Falls - at 254 m, they're Canada's tallest. Journey through dramatic parkland to Golden.

Day 12 Glacier National Park/Mt Revelstoke National Park

While the name leaves little to the imagination, the icy landscapes of Glacier National Park are truly extraordinary. Admire some of the 400 glaciers on show, before heading onto Mt Revelstoke and the world’s only temperate inland rainforest. An afternoon hike offers a great opportunity to see it up-close.

Day 13 Hope

Visit this promising town situated at the confluence of the Fraser and Coquihalla rivers. As the chainsaw-carving capital of Canada, Hope is speckled with curious carved statues depicting eagles, bears and cougars.

Days 14-17 Vancouver Island

Spend the next few days exploring the largest island off North America's west coast. Choose from a range of outdoor activities including sea kayaking, hiking, whale watching, boating and salmon fishing.

Day 18 Victoria

Travel south to the capital of British Columbia and venture into the quaint English gardens and flower beds of Victoria. Marvel at the British colonial-style architecture and the surrounding historical buildings and houses.

Days 19-21 Vancouver

Admire the picturesque vistas and emerald forests of Western Canada's largest city. Amble through raucous Chinatown or chilled-out 'Kits'. Why not mark the end of the adventure with some delicious Vancouver Island lamb.
