Itinerary

Day 1 & 2, Las Vegas & Zion National Park

There's no question, the first installment of awesome national parks will leave you yearning for more. He head out of Vegas for two days in Zion National Park. Swim and explore the hidden canyons, take an optional horse back ride or maybe hike to the top at Angels Landing. Okay, so getting up there can be devilish at times, but the famous trail puts Zion on a 360-degree display of this magnificent national park. Accommodation: Budget lodging included

Day 3, Bryce Canyon National Park

Get this. Bryce Canyon isn't really a canyon at all. It's a massive natural bowl, filled with the park's grizzled hoodoos, and the hiking trail skirting its edge is up there with the park's big hitters. What's a hoodoo when it's at home? Actually, Hoodoos are weird and wonderful rock spires arranged in rows as far as the eye can see. They will leave you searching for your own way to describe this 'indescribable' place. Accommodation: Budget lodging included

Day 4, Canyonlands National Park/Moab

The scenery here never disappoints either. Great rocky formations jut out here and there in the park creating hundreds of individual canyons. This is one of America's least known, but most spectacular National Parks! Nearby Moab is now crying out for some serious mountain biking, a float trip down the Colorado River or even an extreme "Hummer" jeep tour! Accommodation: Budget lodging included

Day 5, Arches National Park

Arches - the park's name says it all. Some 2,000 orange sandstone arches strike their poses. Okay, okay, so Delicate Arch tops most 'to do' lists but the supporting talent on show is formidable too and name-droppers might list Skyline Arch or Double Arch among the trail highlights. Accommodation: Budget lodging included

Day 6, Monument Valley

In the sacred lands of the Navajo people, hear their story first-hand on an optional guided 4x4 Jeep tour. The only things to pre-date the origins of Native American culture are the massive towering rock formations which dominate the awe-inspiring landscape. Legends take shape and myths spring to life around the evocatively named Mittens and Totem Pole Rock. Accommodation: Budget lodging included

Day 7, Grand Canyon National Park

Next we come face-to-face with the most awe-inspiring national park of them all, Grand Canyon, one of the Seven Wonders of the Natural World. Take flight for a bird's eye view or follow the rugged path along the Canyon's gaping chasm. Mightily impressive every which way, from sunrise to sunset, its colours and shades shift as each second ticks by. Accommodation: Budget lodging included

Day 8, Las Vegas

Rise early to catch a Grand Canyon sunrise and maybe a short stroll around the rim. Then it's time to turn your back on the great outdoors, and there's no point doing it by halves. Luckily Vegas wouldn't know how. This is as man-made as it gets. Shows are garish, the neon brash and it's all such damn good fun. Tour ends at approx 17:00 hrs in Las Vegas on day 8.
