Highlights of Jordan
Trip Details
- Duration: 7 day(s) days
- Visited Areas: Middle East
The Jordanian Kingdom is home to some of the oldest cultures on earth, and is a land steeped in history and legend. From the capital Amman we travel along the King's Way, exploring the crusader castle of Kerak, and seeing the famous mosaics of Madaba. We wander through the famous rose red rock city of Petra located in the south of Jordan, a World Heritage Site, built over 2000 years ago. We take a jeep across the dramatic desert landscape of Wadi Rum with its beautiful rock formations, and overnight in a desert camp. From here to the lowest point in the world - the Dead Sea, the salt lake between Israel and Jordan. And finally to the old city of Jerash, built by Alexander the Great, before having time to explore the capital Amman.
