Itinerary
Day 1 Alice Springs/Uluru (Ayers Rock)
Travel from modern-day Alice Springs to ancient Uluru. Along the way, make a stop at an outback camel farm. For those that are keen, there's the option to go for a short ride on one of these 'ships of the desert'. Continue on to a permanent campsite at Yulara for a tasty lunch. Spend time in the afternoon exploring Uluru. It'll be difficult not to be impressed by this massive rock that captivates with its size and vibrant colours. Walk the perimeter and learn about traditional Indigenous culture. At sunset, witness the rock's chameleon hues while sipping on a glass of bubbles.
Day 2 Kata Tjuta (The Olgas)/Kings Creek Station
Enjoy daybreak over Kata Tjuta, a truly special experience. Then head off on a eight km hike through the spectacular Valley of the Winds. In the afternoon travel through the red sand dunes on the way to Kings Creek Station where optional activities are abundant. Try a traditional camp oven dinner, cooked in the coals of the fire, before discovering the constellations of the desert sky during a star-gazing session. Fall asleep to the sounds of the Outback.
Day 3 Watarrka National Park (Kings Canyon)/Alice Springs
Discover the Lost City and the Garden of Eden on a seven km hike past the towering walls, tranquil rockpools, crevices and plateaus of Watarrka. The photo opportunities here are endless so be sure to bring a camera. There's bound to be time for a dip in one of the tranquil rockpools. Return to Kings Creek Station for lunch and then make the journey back to the outback town of Alice Springs.
