Day 1 Broome/Windjana Gorge
Depart the turquoise waters of Broome to start this adventure through the Kimberley. Discover a grim history at the infamous Boab Prison Tree, once used as a temporary prison for the local Aborigines, then spend the night in stunning Windjana Gorge.
Day 2 Fitzroy Crossing
Explore this spectacular gorge a little more, then journey to Tunnel Creek to discover an ancient cave system. In the afternoon, board a boat and traverse the Fitzroy River to view the amazing Geikie Gorge.
Day 3-4 Purnululu National Park (Bungle Bungle Ranges)
Journey by 4x4 deep into the Purnululu National Park. Spend a day exploring the amazing striped rock domes that comprise the Bungle Bungles. Make tracks to the tiny settlement of Turkey Creek, then to the El Questro Wilderness Reserve for more camping in stunning outback scenery.
Days 5-6 El Questro
Wake up with a soothing soak in the thermal pools at Zebedee Springs and then head off to explore more gorges.
Day 7 Kununurra
Stop in at the Zebra Rock Gallery which showcases arts and crafts from the East Kimberley region.
Day 8 Katherine
Head to Lake Argyle to enjoy a relaxing cruise on the waters of this vast lake. Partake in a quintessential Aussie experience, a sausage sizzle! There's much wildlife here, including crocs, so be sure to bring the camera. Cross the WA border and end up at historic Springvale Homestead for a night under the stars.
Day 9 Darwin
Journey to Katherine Gorge. Here there's the choice to join a two-hour cruise through this spectacular region or, for the energetic, there's the option to canoe along Katherine River's serene waters. Stop off for a dip in the cooling pools at Edith Falls before journeying south to the tiny township of Adelaide River. Arrive in the tropics of Darwin and use free time to savour the delights of this multicultural city.
