Itinerary

Day 1 Helsinki

Arrive early to experience Helsinki's diverse heritage with a walk through Senate Square and into the enormous Russian Orthodox cathedral.

Days 2-3 Tallinn

Catch a ferry across the Gulf of Finland to Estonia's charming capital. There's time to see the impressive Kadriorg Palace and to explore the quaint Old Town.

Days 4-5 Riga

Resting on the shores of the Daugava River, Latvia's capital is renowned for its welcoming locals. Visit the Latvian Ethnographic Open-Air Museum before hunting down a bargain at the Central Market.

Days 6-7 Curonian Spit

Travel to the former Prussian capital of Klaipeda, then take a day trip to the Curonian Spit National Park, a playground for outdoor enthusiasts.

Days 8-9 Vilnius

Experience the cosmopolitan charm of Lithuania's capital, which has been occupied by several European powers, each leaving their mark. Visit Cathedral Square and see the imposing Gediminas Tower on a walk around the city. Take a day trip to Trakai to learn about the Karaim people.

Days 10-11 Aukstaitija National Park

Hike and canoe through lush forest to appreciate the natural wonders of this delightful national park. Visit traditional medieval villages and learn about Lithuania's ancient beekeeping industry.

Days 12-13 Warsaw

See a city rebuilt from rubble after World War II on a walk through the Old Town and perhaps experience its rich culture with a trip to a unique puppet theatre.

Days 14-16 Berlin

Discover why artists, designers and musicians continue to make the pilgrimage to a city as famous for its progressive arts scene as for its tumultuous history. Delve into the Berlin's provocative past while wandering the lush pathways of the Tiergarten or by visiting the crumbling remains of the Berlin Wall. Gain a deeper insight into this city's history on a visit to the Checkpoint Charlie Museum.

Days 17-18 Amsterdam

Take to the streets by bicycle and discover a city that once inspired Rembrandt and Van Gogh and continues to enchant visitors with its canals, bridges and parks. In free time, perhaps pick out some fresh blooms at the Bloemenmarkt, visit the wartime hiding place of Anne Frank or head to the Rijksmuseum to marvel at The Night Watch and other artistic masterpieces.

Days 19-20 Bruges

With its picturesque waterways, cobbled lanes, delicious waffles and dazzling array of beers, this 'Venice of the North' beckons. Take it all in on a boat ride through its winding canals. Later there will be plenty of time to sample pralines from a local chocolatier, shop for Flemish lace or just hang out in the city square and watch the world go by.

Days 21-22 Paris

Make time to stroll along the Champs Elysees to the Arc de Triomphe - a Parisian experience not to be missed! Enjoy the view from the Eiffel Tower, count the gargoyles adorning the Notre Dame Cathedral or shop up a storm at the decadent Galeries Lafayette - there's a bounty of things to do in this beautiful city.
