Itinerary

Day 1 Kota Kinabalu

Arrive early to enjoy this intriguing capital. Explore the islands off the coast or drop by the Monsopiad Cultural Village, once home to a notorious headhunter.

Day 2 Kudat

Travel to Tanjung Simpang Mengayau, the meeting point of the Sulu and South China seas, and meet the Rungus people, the main ethnic group living in Kudat.

Day 3 Mt Kinabalu

Stretch legs and breathe in fresh mountain air on a walk in Mt Kinabalu National Park.

Days 4-5 Poring Hot Springs/Sepilok

Have a soak in thermal hot springs before gazing into the soulful eyes of orangutans at the rehabilitation centre in Sepilok.

Day 6 Sukau

Visit Gomantong Caves, home to edible swiftlet nests used in bird's nest soup, then lookout for wildlife on a river cruise.

Day 7 Kota Kinabalu

Fly back to Sabah's capital and relax at beachside accommodation.

Day 8 Kuala Lumpur

Discover an intoxicating blend of cultures in Kuala Lumpur. Wander through the markets of Chinatown, fill-up on spicy Indian delights or explore galleries and museums full of Malay arts. Cap off time in KL with an evening cultural show.

Day 9 Cameron Highlands

Tour tea plantations, on a visit to the lush Cameroon Highlands. Try a steamboat lunch - a popular local dish - and wash it all down with a cup of the local brew.

Days 10-11 Melaka

Get to know this historic port town on a trishaw tour, then practice culinary techniques at a nonya cooking class. In free time head out to explore mosques, churches, museums and forts.

Days 12-13 Pulau Langkawi

Uncover an island paradise on a stay in Pulau Langkawi. Snorkel, swim or just unwind in a spa.

Days 14-15 Penang

Celebrate the end of the adventure with new friends in World Heritage-listed Georgetown.
