This Overland adventure looping through Canada and the US, features some of North America's most celebrated cities. Begin in pulsating New York, before getting a taste of American history in DC. Feel the roar of Niagara Falls, hike through Algonquin National Park and become a Francophile in Montreal and Quebec City. Travel south back over the border for a short stint in New England, seeing the best of Boston, feasting on seafood in Cape Cod and coming to rest in coastal Connecticut. Great parks, exciting cities, delicious regional cuisine and a whole lot of adventure - experience all this and more during 15 days of fun.

Itinerary

Day 1 New York

Arrive early to explore some of the delights of the 'Big Apple'.

Days 2-3 Washington DC

Call into Philadelphia to see the Liberty Bell, then continue to Washington DC. Once in the country's capital, indulge in American politics and history - from the White House to the Washington Monument and the Capitol Building to the Lincoln Memorial.

Day 6 Algonquin Provincial Park

Encompassing swamps, forests, cliffs and beaches, nature lovers will delight in the scenic charms of Algonquin. Take the opportunity for further exploration of this area by jumping in a canoe for a paddling adventure.

Day 7-8 Ottawa/Montreal

Venturing through pristine wilderness, reach Ottawa. A visit to the Canadian Museum of Civilization is recommended. Soak up the French atmosphere of Montreal, a unique Canadian city. Perhaps take a trip to the top of Mont Royal, explore the eclectic Plateau district or polish up on French-speaking skills.

Day 9 Quebec City

Wander down cobbled alleyways in the walled historical downtown area of Vieux Quebec (Old Quebec). Stroll the Terrasse Dufferin (Dufferin Terrace) for beautiful views of the Saint Lawrence River and sample poutine, a local dish of fries, topped with cheese curd and gravy.

Days 10-11 Acadia National Park

Back in the US, see this park's craggy mountains and wildlife-studded fields at their best with an optional sunset kayak tour, or slip into comfortable shoes and hit a hiking trail.

Day 12 Boston

Home to many successful sporting teams - and the place of one very famous tea party - Boston is a popular destination.

Day 13 Cape Cod

Visit Plymouth where the pilgrims landed in America. In Cape Cod, take to the seas on an optional whale-watching boat trip or enjoy a seafood lunch and some saltwater taffy.

Day 14 Clinton

Call by Mystic, an old New England fishing village, then continue on to Clinton for the night.

Day 15 New York

From Broadway shows to leafy Central Park and the iconic Statue of Liberty, there's plenty to see in NYC.

Day 4 Niagara Falls

Admirie the wonder of Niagara Falls. Get close to the falls on an optional 'Maid of the Mist' boat ride.

Day 5 Toronto

Explore the many sights of Toronto - perhaps head to the CN tower or catch a Maple Leafs ice hockey game.
