Itinerary
Days 1-2 Bangkok
Travel to Thailand and take a longtail boat ride along Bangkok's khlongs. Witness Thailand's famous reclining Buddha at Wat Pho. During free time, why not indulge in a relaxing Thai massage.
Day 3 Chiang Mai
Discover sweeping views of Chiang Mai from the temple atop Doi Suthep. Make like a local and slurp down a bowl of kao soi noodles at Chiang Mai's Night Bazaar.
Day 4 Chiang Khong
From Chiang Mai to Chiang Khong, travel through rural Thailand to the Laos border. Mingle with local villagers before catching a first glimpse of the mighty Mekong River.
Day 5 Mekong River
Take a slow boat down the Mekong River, soaking up the laid-back river lifestyle of Laos. Stay overnight in tranquil Pak Beng
Days 6-8 Luang Prabang
See hundreds of Laos' Buddhas carved into the limestone cliffs at the Pak Ou caves before arriving in Luang Prabang. Enjoy Luang Prabang's quaint colonial atmosphere, delve into local history at the Royal Palace Museum and swim in the turquoise waters of nearby Kuang Si falls.
Days 9-11 Vang Vieng/Vientiane
Call in at Laos's famous backpacker hangout of Vang Vieng to admire the stunning limestone karst scenery or wander through the local market.
Day 12 Lak Sao
Revel in a striking montage of mountain, forest and karst scenery en route to Lak Sao.
Days 13-15 Hanoi
Arrive in Vietnam and browse Hanoi's Old Quarter for traditional artefacts and gastronomic delights - or tour Hanoi on a cyclo.
Days 16-17 Halong Bay
French architecture and tree-lined boulevards contrast with age-old Vietnamese traditions and Buddhist temples in Hanoi. Attractions at the top of the list include Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the Temple of Literature and a wander through Hanoi's Old Quarter.
Days 18-19 Hua Shan
Farewell Vietnam and travel into the isolated Chinese mountain village of Hua Shan. Choose to visit a huge cliff-face fresco painted by the ancestors of the Zhuang people some 2,000 years ago.
Day 20 Liuzhou
Nestled on the banks of the Willow River in the Guangxi region of China, Liuzhou features peaceful parks and the impressive Baota Shan seven-storey pagodas

Days 23-24 Longji Terraces
Soaring high into the sky, the Longji rice terraces are an awesome sight. Hike along the tiny stone paths that connect the remote villages of the Zhuang and Yao people. The Longji terraces change colour with the seasons, from lush green in spring to white and frosty in winter.
Days 25-27 Yangshuo
Cycle through landscapes straight out of a classic Chinese painting near Yangshuo. Ancient villages, delicate bridges, local markets and dramatic countryside make the visit to Yangshuo a real tour highlight.
Days 28-29 Hong Kong
Travel north to energetic Hong Kong - an exhilarating, intoxicating fusion of East and West. Cruise the harbour, shop at Stanley Market or admire the Hong Kong skyline from above at Victoria Peak.
