Itinerary

Days 1-3 Beijing

Enjoy a guided tour of the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square and walk the iconic Great Wall.

Days 4-5 Xi'an

Marvel at the ancient Terracotta Warriors - an eternal army ready to serve and protect their Emperor.

Day 6 Silk Road Railway

Make friends with local Uyghurs and watch the desert unfold on this spectacular journey.

Days 7-8 Turpan

Flanked by the Flaming Mountains, this oasis town is still an important stop for travellers. Spend the day admiring architectural gems, vineyards and humble dwellings.

Days 9-11 Kashgar

Hop back on the train and continue the adventure along the Silk Road. At Kashgar, traders spill into town every Sunday for one of Asia's largest markets. An eclectic mishmash of products are sold here - carpets, pottery, jewellery, fresh food, spices and animals. Haggle with locals for a bargain and depart Kashgar with an authentic reminder of the journey.
