Day 1 Havana
Swinging to the beat of the rumba, Havana is unlike any other city in the world. Get acquainted with this intriguing Cuban city - and meet the friendly locals - by taking a walk through its sweeping boulevards and elegant plazas. Head to the Malecon to watch waves break dramatically against the seawall. Alternatively, find a cafe, kick back with a Cuba Libre and soak up the procession of classic cars, the whiff of fragrant cigars and the constant sound of salsa that effortlessly meld in this captivating and incredibly unique city.
Day 2 Cienfuegos
Travel to Cuba's infamous Cienfuegos or, as it's better known, 'The Bay of Pigs'. Stop for a swim, enjoy a warm-up cycle to Playa Giron and visit a museum that commemorates the Bay of Pigs invasion, one of the most important events in Cuba's recent history.
Day 3 Guajimico
Cycle through bountiful mango groves and catch glimpses of the lofty Escambray Mountains. Arrive at Guajimico and spend the afternoon splashing about in the warm waters of the Caribbean, hiking the surrounding hills or sipping mojitos by the pool.
Days 4-5 Trinidad
Hug the glistening Caribbean coast on an exhilarating ride to Trinidad, Cuba's unique, World Heritage-listed colonial town. Spend time relaxing by the water or take a picturesque cycle to an old colonial sugar plantation that's located in one of Cuba's most beautiful valleys. Stop in La Boca along the way for a refreshing juice at a beach bar.
Day 6 Topes de Collante National Park/Lake Hanabanilla
Journey into the expansive Topes de Collantes National Reserve and cycle across the valley floor past rustic farms and villages. Climb up through lush hills to Hanabanilla - situated on the shores of a lake - stopping for a relaxing picnic along the way.
Days 7-8 Havana
Travel to the historical centre of Santa Clara, famously liberated by Che Guevara in 1958. Visit Guevara's resting place on a fascinating visit to his mausoleum. Afterwards, return to captivating Havana. Full of narrow streets, glorious Spanish architecture and pulsating bars and restaurants, this is a wonderful city to explore. End your Cuban Highlights Ride with a sightseeing tour of historical Old Havana and, time permitting, see the contrasts of Revolution Square and the grand Capitol Building.
