Itinerary

Day 1 Tripoli

The capital of Libya is an exciting place to start the journey. Take in incredible views of the Mediterranean on a visit to the ancient ruined city of Sabratha.

Day 2 Leptis Magna

Journey to the impressive ruins of Leptis Magna, considered to be one of the most extensive and best-preserved ancient Roman cities in the world. Explore the site with a guide, then stay overnight at a beach camp.

Days 3-4 Ghadames

Walk through the streets of Ghadames and admire the mosques, gardens and houses before visiting a museum that shows how the people of this city used to live.

Day 5 Bush Camp

Travel through the desert and spend the night camping in the bush.

Day 6 Sebha

After a long day on the road, stay overnight in Sebha.

Days 7-10 Tekerkiba/Desert Camp

Board a jeep and embark on an epic desert adventure. With a guide, travel through stark, dusty landscapes of jagged rock formations and undulating dunes. See prehistoric rock paintings, witness spectacular sunsets and camp under the starry sky.

Days 11-12 Bush Camp

Head north towards the coast of Libya.

Days 13-14 Shahat

Using Shahat as a base, visit the remains of the ancient cities of Cyrene and Apollonia. With a guide, explore the temples, palaces and baths of these fascinating sites.

Day 15 Bush Camp

Visit the Knightsbridge War Cemetery, then cross the border into Egypt and journey through the Western Desert.

Days 16-17 Siwa Oasis

Kick back and rejuvenate in the beautiful oasis of Siwa. Soak up the lush surroundings and relaxed atmosphere.

Days 18-19 Alexandria

For a dose of history, stop by El Alamein's War Museum and Commonwealth War Cemetery, then continue to the port city of Alexandria. In free time, perhaps visit the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, delve underground to the catacombs of Kom ash-Shuqqafa or wander the seawall.

Days 20-21 Cairo

Arrive in Egypt's capital and be astounded by the ancient wonders that Cairo is famous for. Enjoy a guided tour of the Sphinx and Pyramids of Giza, as well as Saqqara and Memphis. Perhaps stay on after this trip ends to shop in souqs, visit museums and dine on spicy cuisine.
