Itinerary
Day 1 Accra
The trip begins in Ghana's glamorous capital, among Accra's powdery beaches and bustling bars.
Days 2-3 Elmina
Help out on a local community project in the little fishing town of Elmina.
Days 4-5 Kumasi
Visit the lively markets of this bustling provincial city.
Day 6 Kintampo Waterfalls
Visit the picturesque Kintampo Waterfalls.
Days 7-8 Mole National Park
Home to elephants, lions and leopards, Mole National Park is one of West Africa's best parks for wildlife viewing.
Days 9-11 Banfora
Explore the magnificent Karfiguela Waterfalls.
Days 14-15 Ouagadougou
Dance the night away to the hypnotic sounds of local musicians in Ouagadougou.
Days 16-17 Segou
Travel to Segou and choose to revel in the lively atmosphere at a local nightclub.
Days 18-19 Bamako
Discover the rhythmic heart of Bamako. Why not catch a performance from some of West Africa's finest musicians while here.
Days 24-25 Kayes
Enjoy camping in the bush.
Days 26-27 Niokolo-Koba National Park
Embark on game drives in the Niokolo-Koba National Park. Keep watch for chimpanzees, leopards, hippos and elands, which can all be found here.
Days 29-30 Kiang West National Park
Experience The Gambia's largest National Park, Kiang West.
Days 33-34 St Louis
Spot egrets, ducks, pelicans and flamingos in an estuary off the Senegal River.
Days 35-36 Dakar
Celebrate the end of your Nomadic West Africa journey in the vibrant costal city of Dakar.
Days 12-13 Bobo-Dioulaso
Bobo-Dioulasso is a vibrant city, home to a sacred fishpond used for unusual rituals.
Dyas 20-22 Mandingue Country trek
Go on a 4-day trek to the seldom visited area of Mandingue country, south of Bamako. Trek between local villages amid wonderful scenery and stay in the villages overnight.
Day 23 Bamako
The final day of our trek brings us back to Bamako with a chance to rest some weary legs. Perhaps enjoy a last blast of Malian sounds on a night out in the capital.
Day 28 Basse Santu-Su
Explore the small Gambian village of Bassa Santu Su.
Day 31-32 Palmarin
Join local fisherman exploring the mangroves by canoe in Palmarin.
