Itinerary
Day 1 Marrakech/Oukaimeden
Head to the remote resort of Oukaimeden and inhale the fresh air that surrounds the High Atlas Mountains. Enjoy the peace and quiet of this beautiful town, or take a short walk up to the lookout and watch the sun set behind African peaks.
Day 2 Tacheddirt
Lace up those hiking boots and get started on the trek to Tizi n'ou Addi. Take the time to meet the nomadic Berbers on the passes, before catching a glimpse of the summit of Angour. Descend via a stony trail to reach Tacheddirt. Here, the tiny homes are made of mud and straw, farm animals wander freely about and locals go about their daily life as they have for centuries.
Day 3 Aremd
Hike along zigzagging mule trails on the climb to Aremd. Learn more about the lives of Berbers on a track that undulates between the valleys and peaks of the ranges.
Day 4 Tizi Oussem
Awesome views across the Azzaden Valley and Ouanoukrim Range await as the steady trekcontinues. Follow in Berber footsteps along this long, dusty track, before spending a memorable night in a local gite.
Days 5-6 Tassa Ouirgane
Descend on tracks that cling to the side of the Azzaden Valley and visit the village of Id Issa. Reaching the perimeter of the Ouirgane Nature Reserve, there is the chance to spot Barbary sheep or even wild boar! Experience the local hospitality at Tassa Ouirgane after the days walking.
Days 7-8 Marrakech
Arrive back in Marrakech and adjust to the buzz of city life once more. Explore the souqs, or simply sit back and take in one of the 'greatest shows on earth' at the Djemaa el-Fna.
