Day 1 Cape Town
Begin the adventure in the coastal beauty of one of Africa's most attractive cities.
Day 2 Stellenbosch Wine Region
Spend an afternoon cycling around the beautiful landscapes of Stellenbosch. Stop in at various wineries to sample the local drop, before heading out to a pub or restaurant in the evening.
Day 3 Oudtshoorn
Journey to the ostrich capital of the world and perhaps have dinner in a local home - a great opportunity to gain insight into day-to-day life in modern South Africa.
Days 4-5 Garden Route/Tsitsikamma National Park
Start the day with a visit to the stunning Cango Caves, then travel to the seaside town of Knysna where there's time to stretch legs and admire the view. Continue on to Tsitsikamma National Park to enjoy hiking, snorkelling or perhaps even bungee jumping. With ancient forests, sweeping vistas of the Indian Ocean and an abundance of wildlife, camping in this national park is an enriching outdoor adventure.
Day 6 Addo Elephant National Park
Nestled in the heart of a densely forested valley, Addo Elephant National Park boasts a spectacular array of animals, with everything from magnificent African elephants to diminutive dung beetles.
Days 7-8 Wild Coast/Cintsa
Enjoy a morning game drive, then travel to the jewel in the crown of the Eastern Cape - the Wild Coast. Cintsa is a charming seaside town surrounded by sparkling blue ocean and sun-dappled forests. Enjoy the range of sports on offer, from hiking and mountain biking, to canoeing and surfing.
Days 9-10 Lesotho
Travel to mountainous Lesotho to explore the verdant, green highlands of this friendly land-locked kingdom. Wander around town, peruse the markets or perhaps ride a pony to a local village.
Days 11-12 Drakensberg
Explore the majestic Drakensberg mountain range on foot. Home to an amazing array of flora and fauna, there is much to admire on hikes through this stunning area.
Day 13 Durban
Relax in the beachside playground of South Africa.
Day 14 Zululand
Rise early and travel into the heart of Zulu country. Be treated to traditional food, song and dance while staying overnight with friendly Zulu locals.
Day 15 St Lucia Estuary
Home to thousands of species of birds, mammals and reptiles, the St Lucia Estuary provides plenty of opportunities to spot wildlife. Why not join an optional boat cruise to see hippos wallowing and crocodile basking on the banks?
Days 16-17 Mozambique Beach Camp
Across the border, head to the coast and hit the beach. There are many optional activities on offer at this relaxed seaside camp. Go scuba diving or snorkelling to discover colourful underwater worlds, head out on a boat cruise to spot dolphins or stay onshore and explore vibrant markets. There's also plenty of time to relax on the beach or enjoy a fresh seafood meal washed down with a chilled local beer.
Day 18 Swaziland
Journey to the welcoming Kingdom of Swaziland where the vast expanses of the Hlane Royal National Park awaits. Head out on a walking safari with a guide to look for rare white rhinos as well as elephants, zebras and impala.
Days 19-20 Kruger National Park
Spend the morning wandering around a craft market, then visit a candle factory that provides valuable employment to locals. Afterwards, make tracks to South Africa's iconic Kruger National Park - one of the largest game reserves on the continent. The following morning, embark on a thrilling game drive to try and spot the Big Five. At night, an optional night safari offers a chance to see nocturnal animals in action.
Day 21 Johannesburg
Wake at dawn for a final morning game drive before leaving the wilds of the Kruger National Park. Stop to take in views of the awesome Blyde River Canyon before the adventure ends back in the modernity of Johannesburg.
