Day 1 Pokhara/Modi Valley
Walk through the alpine meadows, fields and forests of this beautiful region to reach the suspension bridge that crosses the Modi River. Enter a dense forest, then ascend steeply to the village of Chachowk. Continue to the small village of Yangjakot. Stay overnight here and enjoy the authentic atmosphere of a traditional home.
Days 2-3 Trek to Siklis
Hike through verdant landscapes, past rural hillside villages and rivers flowing with fresh mountain water, to enjoy spectacular vistas of the mighty Annapurnas. Tred a steep, stone staircase and ramble past terraced fields to Siklis. This Gurung village embodies the beauty of typical Nepalese hillside culture. Rest overnight and enjoy watching the rituals of everyday farm life.
Day 4 Trek to Ghalegaun
Journey through deep woods and grassland to a vantage-point for views that include most of the Annapurna massif. On a clear day, the majestic panorama is breathtaking. Descend via a shady rhododendron forest, heavy with lichen, moss and wild orchids. Spend a memorable night on a homestay in remote Ghalegaun.
Day 5 Pokhara
Catch glimpses of snowy peaks piercing the forest canopy on the final descent. Head to Bhurjung Khola, a tributary of the Seti River, then transfer to Pokhara. There is plenty to do in this charming town set against a backdrop of pretty mountains. Once a stop on the trade route between India and Tibet, Pokhara has a distinctly chilled-out atmosphere. Why not stay on after the trip ends for a relaxing sunset boat ride on the lake or some people-watching in one of the many cafes?
